Scar - a steampunk version of a Disney The Lion King character
Why I chose to make this costume
My partner did a steampunk version of Maleficent a couple of years ago and was starting to talk about doing Ursula. I figured, in that vein, maybe I should do a steampunk Disney villain and Scar immediately came to mind.
How I made this costume
While there are certainly some 'typical Victorian' costume elements to this, the real work was in the mask. This is constructed from EVA foam. I also made the cane.
Thoughts on this costume
"I'm surrounded by idiots." But seriously, the mask/helmet was a fun build, which I quickly realized could be repurposed for other projects.... (see my A href="scar2.html">cyberpunk version of the same character!)
