As a kid I rarely went anywhere without a large sketchpad and/or a duffel bag full of Lego. It feels like I've always been drawing or sketching, even if it is just a concept mock-up of my next big project. Over the years, I have suplemented those skills with courses in drawing, technical drafting, airbrush, etc etc... I have always enjoying working with new techniques and mediums.

Today, my brushes and airbrush mostly see use on gaming miniatures and terrain or various props. But I also occasionally break out the brushes or woodburner to put some decorative elements on furniture or other woodworking projects.
