Wolverine - X-Men
Why I chose to make this costume
Wolverine is among my favourite X-Men, so I had to do at least one version of this character. "Lumberjack Logan" (from the 2000 movie) was an easy one to put together and to pack for our first DragonCon.
How I made this costume
The claws were fun to build! These are made from sintra and attached via brass wire to a small wooden grip. I mostly followed Bill Doran's process here, though I made much more low-profile wooden hand-grips then he did for his. This was also my first time using spirit gum and crepe hair so that I could create his muttonchops.
Thoughts on this costume
Though this one is easy to pack and looks much less out of place once I leave a convention, I will probably do more versions of the character in the future!
